Renegade X

UI work on a fan-made Command & Conquer shooter, built with EA's blessing.

A hobby project: UI work in UnrealScript and ActionScript for Renegade X, a free fan-made spiritual successor to Command & Conquer: Renegade built by the volunteer team Totem Arts.

Renegade X is a free, fan-made spiritual successor to Command & Conquer: Renegade, built by a volunteer team called Totem Arts. I contributed UI work in UnrealScript and ActionScript, purely as a personal ambition project alongside everything else going on at the time — not paid work, just a shared passion with the rest of the team. Several of my teammates from that project have since gone on to work at EA.

EA was notably permissive of the project: the team kept it running for free under its own name, was allowed to accept donations from 2021, and EA eventually open-sourced the game outright in 2025. Along the way the project also gained rights to build out content from the Tiberian Sun era.
